Nutrition in Pregnancy

Talking to Young mothers about nutrition in Pregnancy

Following a successful exploratory investigation including About Teenage Eating (ATE) and preparatory work with Sheffield Hallam university,  Tommys children’s charity are looking to design and deliver an antenatal healthy eating and supplementation intervention based upon the insights and experiences of young pregnant women.

We are working with Southampton University on a project aiming to improve outcomes for pregnant teenagers by developing a complex intervention to improve the quality of diet. This work is funded by the Medical Research Council.

We have been sub contracted to gather insight and undertake qualitative research in 2 phases. A shallow dive to get to know the topic, people and locality, followed by a deep dive in-depth study where trusted relationships can be developed with local people and providers and true co-design can happen.

This research was conducted in early 2016 in Doncaster, Manchester and Southampton.
